How awesome that you were able to reconnect with your sister! I have had cousins live with me and definitely feel like they are my siblings so I understand.

I always laugh when Indian food is expensive (um, Tabla in NYC. It’s insane pricey!) because it is so cheap to make, but it does look delicious! Naan= so effing good. We made it in our last three days of Asias class in a real tandoori oven, and it was so hard not to munch on!

This story is very cool, because it was something burdened deep inside you that probably no one had any idea about for a very long time. This sort of thing has happened to me before, like everything else could be so good/content in your life, but that one thing is still tugging at your insides, and you know something is just not right- but indeed, when that burden goes away, it is like you lost 20 lbs. An amazing light feeling.

OMG. We look alike?! no way! haha, actually we look totally different! People have always been really surprised when we introduced ourselves as “sisters” and then said “no wonder you don’t look alike!” when we later revealed that we are actually cousins! I guess it’s just the way she puts her make-up?

I am so glad that you met up with your “sister” and repaired a valuable relationship! It seems that this trip has been very healing for you. Not only did you get to heal a relationship, but you got to physically show a lot of people your own healing. Good for you!

I’m glad it’s over. I had such conflict wit hmy step bro, my dad’s side of the family & til now it’s not resolved. I dont talk to my dad eihter. So yea.
I now how you feel.

on a separate note, u & yr sis/cousin definitely can pass off as sisters! Serious. U guys look alike!

i am the most stubborn person ever.. and have a really hard time confessing that i miss someone after i’ve had fights and falling outs.. it took me a few years to tell one of my friends that i was sorry, i missed her.. all from her stupid wedding drama.. it seems so silly, but i remember at the time being so hurt i cried about it all the time.
but still, i didnt say anything to her.. i was scared to let my feelings out there..
im glad you were able to reconcile with your cousin, im sure that it made you both feel really releived.. or however you spell that.. lol

Great post!! Isn’t it amazing when God finally opens our eyes to things we should have seen long ago? It’s all for a reason, I have no doubt! I have been in an almost 2 year stand off with my ex best friend. We had been best friends for 13 years, but there were a lot of boundary issues and we even talked again a few months ago to no avail. Unfortunately, I do think some relationships can’t be mended, but I also think it’s important to try. <3

Now I have to get my hands on some Ggultarae. After reading about your food, I tease my Canadian-born Asian friends all the time that they're not Asian enough, lol. I need Asian cooking lessons and I'm going to have to go to through their mothers.
