I think it’s time.
I’ve been blogging for a little more than a year, and it’s been a most rewarding experience. The very fact that you are right now sitting in front of your computer (or Blackberry), reading whatever I have to write…it’s been a great source of motivation and comfort to me. I’ve gained new precious relationships, and enjoyed all your embracing support, friendship, and encouragements. But there comes a time when I need to think about giving back. I’ve already blabbered enough “thank you”s to all of my readers (that’s you). I would love to give something physical back now. Unfortunately, I’m still a broke student who can’t even afford to indulge on Greek yogurt, with a limited monthly allowance from her poor missionary parents.
Thankfully, one of the perks of being a blogger is connections with (richer) companies, too. CSN Stores gave me an opportunity to either review or giveaway one of their products. I was tempted to score a slow-cooker for myself, but then I remembered that this is the perfect opportunity to award my dear readers. So, in a moment of rare selflessness, I decided to do a giveaway instead. Think of it as a “Thank You” gift from me to you.
CSN Stores is a conglomerate of all sorts of different stores:bar stools, cookware, mailboxes, , and toys and games. Obviously, I was most interested in the cookware site, but I also had tons of fun browsing through the bar stools site, dreaming of the sleek, trendy apartment I would love to design for myself. Gosh, I can just imagine myself, swinging on a chic bar stool, sipping on ice-cream soda…Anyone else like me, who doesn’t give a rat’s ass how her bedroom looks like…so long as the kitchen and dining room is brilliantly furbished? Okay, losing track…Where was I? Oh yeah. Giveaway. And you.
After a survey on Twitter, apparently the major consensus was on a spiralizer, or a mandolin. I found something better:
The Paderno World Cuisine Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer
“The spiral vegetable slicer cuts vegetables and fruits into curly, ribbon-like slices. By placing the vegetable or fruit on the prongs of the wheel and turning the wheel while pushing the base toward the vertical julienne blade, continuous spiral strands and curled julienne strips are created. The slicer is made of plastic.”
Features:
- 3 sets of blades with 1/8" (3mm) or 1/4" (6mm) spacing
- Straight blade for ribbon cuts
- Slicer Material: Plastic
- Cleaning and care: Dishwasher safe
- Warranty: 1 year
How do you enter the giveaway? There are two ways to enter, and each one will win you an entry: If you don’t have a blog, no worries, I still love you! You can still enter the same way as I described above. You’ve got until this Sunday, February 21 to enter! Best of luck, dear readers! And thank you, thank you for faithfully reading my blog…all my rants, vents, blabbers, and bitching!!

2. Hmm, Well I love your blog and your recipes… I’m always inspired to step outside my personal boundaries of “safe” food which is a GOOD thing… but sometimes the swearing throws me a little bit… Regardless, still love you and your blog!
I love how raw and honest you are. Your deep bond with the Lord really has encouraged me to seek a better relationship with Him!
Keep doing what you do!
thanks for all the recepies and giveaways
When I was punished as a kid, my parents used to make me skin potatoes.. I think this would have been AWESOME to have in my room so I didn’t have to do all the work. It’d be great to use now, as I shudder when I think of having to peel or slice ANYTHING. It’s amazing what you learn from your parents…

My friend told me about this machine. She made a great zucchini recipe with it. I’d really love to try one but just can’t afford anything extra right now. Thanks!
