So…I’ve got a confession…
Blue Eyed Heart and Katharina had passed me this award several days ago…
…But I kept forgetting to post it on my blog. Well, better late than never, eh? Sorry, girls!
So what does the award mean exactly?
“This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant. This award is about bloggers who post from their heart, who oftentimes put their heart on display as they write from the depths of their soul.”
There are three rules that need to be followed upon accepting this award.
1. Brag about it
2. Select 7 Blogs you find brilliant and link to them
3. List 10 honest things about yourself
Wow. Brilliant. My blog is brilliant! Yay! So now that I’ve bragged about how brilliant I am to receive this award, let me list the 10 obligatory honest things about myself…
- I like going to the grocery store a little bit too much. My excitement before visiting Whole Foods or Trader Joes is equivalent to the way a kid feels before visiting the carnival or circus
- I’ve never, ever gone on a date. Never had a boyfriend. The most physical contact I’ve made with a guy my age was when I hugged him after his mom passed away…no wonder my friends think I’m Virgin Mary
- Whenever a girl gets too close to my brother, I get immensely jealous/protective and become a total bitch to her
- I once peed in my pants while laughing too hard once in the middle of gymnastics practice. Luckily, everyone believed me when I said I sat on a puddle
- I have a prejudice against my own countrymen (the Koreans)
- I get annoyed with girls who shoot a million pictures of themselves with “cute” and “pretty” expressions (cue: big, doeful eyes, pouty lips) and post it all over the internet
- I’m terrified of kids. What do I say to them? What do I do with them? Why are they staring at me? Ack, why are they crying?
- I don’t use any products for my skin. Dove soap. That’s it. No fancy cleanser, no lotion, or a speck of make-up.
- I used to pick fights with other kids in the playground as a hobby
- I’ve been eating the same exact meal for the past three days because THIS COMBINATION IS FREAKING AMAZING!!
What combination am I talking about? I’m talking about this:
zucchini/summer squash + andouille sausage + onions + lemon zest + feta = FREAKING HEAVEN IN A BOWL!!!
Seriously, you’ve got to give it a try, before zucchini season ends! It’s mad simple, and there is so many ways you can go with this. I’m trying to clear away the fridge before I leave for LA (on Monday) so my presentations are limited, but the sky’s the limit for you!
All you do is…
1) Slice zucchini/summer squash, andouille, onions, and garlic (I included a Granny Smith here, but you can leave it out or add other stuff you want):
2) Stir-fry them in a little olive oil in a pan. Season with salt and pepper, drizzle in a bit of balsamic vinegar.
3) When cooked through, grate some fresh lemon zest over it. Scrape out into a bowl, sprinkle with feta cheese!
Hal~lelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!
Of course you’ll need some carbs, so if you’ve got rice or quinoa or whatever, just stir-fry it together. I just added a random waffle I found buried in the freezer:
Another gorgeous way to eat this is with poached eggs on top! And why settle on one when you can have two?
Get a funky spoon…
Stare at the beauty of the quivering soft-poached eggs…Then poke that wobbly yolk, baby!
And let the liquid gold flow~
Dip in that piece of bread (old chewy ciabatta in my case)…
Just dig in! You can make this with yellow summer squash…
Or green zucchini. Take your pick!
Whatever you choose, don’t forget that lemon zest and the feta. It really makes the whole dish pop!
By the way… the picture with the yellow squash was shot with my old Sony Cybershot…the one with the zucchini was shot with my new Canon Powershot…Do you see the difference?
Question of the day: Can you relate to any of the “honest scraps” I’ve shared? Or are you vehemently different from any of them?
P.S. I’m not following the rules by passing down the award because I think most of you have received it already…I was just kinda slow!

I am like you on #’s 1,3,6 and 9! The stirfry is really amazing!
Congrats on the award
I got this passed on to me too, but I haven’t posted about it yet. Eek.
Let’s see… I also love going to the grocery store, especially Trader Joe’s. I’m also terrified of children. They are a complete and total mystery to me.
You’re so lucky to not have to use products on your skin! I’m sure your skin is grateful
Congrats on your award! LOL, you’re so funny. Nice to read more about you.
I share that same fascination with grocery stores – ESPECIALLY in other countries.
I am in total agreement with numbers 1, 2 and 7. I’d much rather have a house full of cats than children! And I’ve only hugged a guy once…he wasn’t really worth hugging as it turned out : (
HUGE congratulations for the award…you’re so modest and sweet for forgetting to post it!
<3
That combination looks amazing! No wonder you’re sticking to it!
Loved reading the honest truths about you – feel like I know you a bit now
Hey!! Thanks for the comment on my blog! I’m loving yours…I went back and read some old posts!! It’s great, and honest, and funny! I’ll definitely me adding you to my Google Reader!
haha…I’m with you on #7…I’m not so great with the kiddos. At least I’m not the only one!
I’m not just saying this, but I could have written that list myself.
I’m in grocery stores at least five times a week (in my defense, not just for myself). I had a boyfriend for six years, but haven’t had more than one date in seven years (yes, single for seven years at 28).
I can’t stand “girly girls” that have 8,000 pictures of themselves on their Facebook page/blog they took themselves, pouting and/or drunk.
I was my face with Neutrogena soap, nothing else, and I am not a kid person. I don’t know what to do with them, although I love their honesty.
I pretty much get obsessed with one combo meal and eat it every day until I decide I don’t love it any more.
How’s that for a ramble…
How do you come up with so many creative and delicious looking dishes everyday? I have to rack my brain for blog material. lol
That yolk had me instantly craving a fried egg. Too bad it’s 9 o’clock at night.
Congrats on your award, sweetie!!!
