Breakfast pic again today! Didn’t take a pic of my finished product, but took a picture of my oats cooking on the stove…because today I had something different for my oatmeal…I cooked my oatmeal with this passionfruit tea I “borrowed” from the church’s pantry…
Look at the tea bubbling merrily away! The taste was fruity and floral, quite different from my usual oatmeal, but I don’t think I’ll do this again…I much prefer my other versions of oatmeal.
Also took a pic of my bowl of fruits today because it was so pretty! I couldn’t resist!
Bowl of fruits: pineapple, dragonfruit, pear, orange, apple, drizzled with a bit of yogurt from my yogurt bowl and sprinkled with a pinch of cinnamon…Yum yum~ I LOVE fruits in the morning with my oats and yogurt! Can you say perfection?
Ate out for both lunch and dinner today…Lunch out with Wengang, then hit Ikea and Giant superstore in Tampines, then out to Changi Village Hawker Centre with Shiya…I wasn’t planning on eating out for lunch and had already prepared my food, but Wengang had half-day today and asked if I wanted to have lunch out with him…Truthfully, I really wanted the egg salad and cucumber sandwich which I had made, but I knew the right thing to do was to accept his offer…and challenge ED once again. I have to be willing to be flexible sometimes, and succumb to circumstances like any normal person would do. And a normal person would much rather eat out with company than stay cooped up in the house munching on her own food…
We went to a nearby kopitiam…and I failed again. I ordered something I was more comfortable with…instead of what I really wanted, which was a bowl of lor mee or Hokkien mee or well, some kind of refined starchy noodles…But I chickened out and ordered chicken (pun totally intended)…
The char-grilled chicken, with some kind of creamy sauce…I had no idea it would come with this rich sauce, so lunch was suddenly no longer a safe food! You get two additional sides with it; I ordered steamed veggies and salad…The broccoli and carrots came drenched in butter, and the salad had dressing in it even though I ordered it specifically without dressing, to which the cashier girl said, “Oh, it doesn’t come with dressing!” No dressing, my ass. I was kind of pissed off…I had a different picture in mind when I ordered char-grilled chicken…I was thinking a juicy piece of chicken breast with lovely grill marks, but this piece of chicken was dripping in oil (where does that freaking oil come from?) and it wasn’t a good cut because I kept cutting into these stringy tendon bits…know what I mean?
Okay, sorry about complaining…serves me right for ordering the “safest” food in the first place, and who the hell chooses western food in a local kopitiam anyway…
When I got home from Ikea and Giant, it was already 5:30 pm, the time Shiya set to come over and take me out to eat dinner together. So I didn’t really have the time to have my mid-afternoon snack, and also didn’t want to fill myself up right before dinner…but I knew I had to eat something since I didn’t do so well for lunch, so I just grabbed something light…
haha, light pepsi and a handful of almonds and cashews…
Shiya and I went to Changi Village for dinner…Apparently the nasi lemak there is famous, but I did not want rice…Or BBQ seafood…I really couldn’t decide what I wanted…So once again stuck to what I was familiar with…
Wanton soup. Again. Yeah, yeah, I know…
But this wanton soup was different. It was uber-delicious, and the filling in the wrapper was HUGE and juicy and mouth-watering! You can’t really see from this picture, though I tried, but there was a whole shrimp in every tasty dumpling…Yum~
Shiya also ordered a whole bunch of different dishes because she was so “hungry” but I knew she ordered them for me…Which I genuinely appreciated, but actually did not want…Already that bowl of wanton soup was too much for me! But this is what she ordered…

Penang char kway tieow (fried flat rice noodles)…
And black carrot cake.
I finished my wanton soup, and had a few bites of black carrot cake and Penang char kway tieow…Had to force myself, although I really was full because I didn’t want to disappoint Shiya…
After dinner we took a walk around the beach there, which was so beautiful! It would be a perfect place for a romantic walk…Shiya and I had a lovely talk, too…
When I got home I convinced myself that I was hungry again and made a HUGE bowl of oatme
al flavored with durian extract. Also had a bowl of almonds and cashews…
and the egg salad/cucumber sandwich I had made for lunch earlier…
Wow, I ate a lot today…Missed my nuts a lot, but I’m disappointed that the nuts here aren’t as oily and salty as the ones I usually get in America…Could only find baked almonds…:-(

mm i guess you’ve had astons’ western food? i love their grilled fishhhh! and their juicy buttery corn.. well sinful.. but truthfully it does makes it taste better!..

but IKEA food is awesome!!!!!!! the meatballs with cranberry sauce is heaven………………… the chicken wings…………. i used to love the poached salmon too with veg and potatoes as sides. (:
ohh and pepsi light is so gassy! :/ i dont like it.
